Nothing like a January night for tying flies.  If you fish the Guad you will need to re-stock your nymph box and the White Bass run is right around the corner.  And of course, there is nothing like a January night for enjoying Uncle Dan’s BBQ.

Our first tying night of 2018 will be Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Uncle Dan’s BBQ.  We’ll get started about 5:30 pm.

Remember, guests are welcome to join us.

We start about 5:30 pm and leave when we get tired of tying or Uncle Dan’s is about close.  Being a fly tier is not required so if you have a few good fish stories to tell or just need a BBQ fix join us.  As always, feel free to bring a guest.

The turnout was pretty good, as were the BBQ and adult beverages.

latham1601Club members spent an afternoon at Latham Springs on September 13, 2016. After the fishing, member Pat Vanek fired up the grill and those present had a great meal and some fun conversation. While no score was kept it seemed that more and larger fish were caught during the after meal story telling than during the actual fishing.

April 19, 2015 in Events

brshcrk1Members of the Waco Fly Fishing Club joined members of other clubs to assist with the annual clean up of Round Rock’s Brushy Creek. The cleanup is sponsored by the Living Waters Fly Shop which provided pick-up tools, trash bags, and safety vests as well as an after-cleanup crawfish boil. The cleanup was aided by recent heavy rains which had floated trash and debris higher on the banks for easier pickup. WFFC members found such diverse items as an automobile bumper, a lawnmower part, and several dead deer.
